My names Melissa Soto I'm 16 years old and I'm a junior at Brooklyn Studio high school. I decided to make my website about Costa Rica Which is where all my family is from. I wanted to do this to show people how nice and amazing this experience of being there can be. Whether it's with family or just friends. I love it when I go which is why I want to try and persuade people to go take a nice vacation where they can relax and see and do many different things. It will be an experience everyone will love and will never forget. 1. What is navigation?
- A navigation page is a type of page that can be added to other pages to provide a consistent set of navigational elements. A typical navigation page might contain a logo, the page title, a login link, and a link to the home page.


2. How are you going to design the navigation for your site i.e., buttons, frames, hyperlinks or nav bar?
for my website the way I want to design my navigation is maybe by having a page that stays Costa Rica and with four pictures of the different volcanoes of costa rica when people go and click one of the pictures different information or galleries will come up for people to continue looking and reading my page there will be a home page that brings you back to the beginning or maybe a way for people to ask questions about Costa Rica

To achieve in having Harmony and Unity in your design you must have consistency and repetition.
you could have similar fonts and colors and pictures which match your topic as well.
In order to achieve Simplicity in your website you need to have a several amount of text and pictures in order to grab attention of the people or get your point across.
If you want to achieve in having Consistency in your design you must make it easier for people to navigate your page if not they will have a hard time trying to figure out how to work things or you can put similar things together in one spot so it can make the page or your design feel more consistent.
To have Clarity in your page you have to make what your saying as simple as possible for people to understand, you can use pictures to make things more helpful to people and you can speak in simple proper language.

-the principle of design in my design for my webpage would be harmony because the elements in my picture are all the similar size and shape they are also arranged in a similar format as well.

-My about me information:
My name is Melissa Soto and I'm 16 years old. My website is about the wonders and great experiences you could have by visiting Costa Rica. My parents are from there and I only wish I was able to grow up in a place so calm and different. Costa Rica is the perfect place to spend you vacations in the tropics. Many people don't know about Costa Rica which is why I want to show them and maybe even persuade you of going. For the people who know about costa rica and has even been there maybe I can even persuade you to go again and take a wonderful vacation. Which is why I decided to tell and show more people about it. I hope you enjoy ! and maybe even get the urge of wanting to go

The official name for costa rica is Republica de Costa Rica also the official language is spanish and costa rica's capital is named San Jose which has been ranked fourth among the latin american cities with the best quality of life. The independence date is september 15, 1821 from spain and the currency is colon. Costa Rica is located in central america between the pacific ocean and the caribbean sea. It's varied landscapes and mild climate makes costa rica the perfect getaway for a great vacation. Costa Rica has two international airports which are Juan Santamaria in San Jose its capital and Daniel Oduber in the northern city of liberia. Costa Rica attracts important investments thanks to its efficient productivity in high technology, its well educated population and its high quality technical education accessible in the country. Costa Rica is a democratic republic and it has never seen the political unrest, class struggles, or revolutions commonly associated with other latin american countries. The country doesn't need or have an army because it is such a peaceful country it has no enemies foreign or from within. Costa Rica is also the second largest banana exporter. It has been the oldest democracy with more than 100 years of stability. *Also if your interested costa rica is a safe country where you are able to own land even if you are not a citizen costa rican's constitution guaranties that every person citizen or not has rights to own land.

-Main Idea:
There are many activities to do while in Costa Rica like: Hiking in the rain forest, horseback riding, mountain biking, white water rafting, bungee jumping, snorkeling, surfing, kayaking, and the fun never ends..
some nice places to visit are: The National museum of Costa Rica, The museum of the children, The ruins of Cartago, The National theater, the national monument at the national park in san jose, costa rica, The Amusement Park, Templo de orsoi (Ruins of Orosi), The church of corona, The old church of puriscal, and The church of la Virgen de los angeles.
Many Nice and different places of costa rica to go to is Like Limon, Jaco, Puntarenas, guanacaste, Liberia, Tambor, Orotina, Heredia, Moravia, Alajuela, Grecia, Tortugero, San Carlos, Tamarindo, Quepos, Manuel Antonio,
Some of the nice beaches to go to are in Manuel Antonio, Drake Bay, playa Hermosa, Jaco Beach, playa langosta, playa carillo, playa camaronal, playa islita, and many others. Costa Rica is a paradise for divers.
Costa Rica is the number one industry in tourism which shows that its a well sought destination with a lot to do the Costa Rican citizens want and welcome tourist and foreigners in their country and are always friendly and smiling in transactions, dealings and social settings with some one visiting. There are also a number of volcanoes to go look at in costa rica Like Volcano Arenal which sometimes shoots out lava, or the volcanoes Poas and Irazu. There is a number of different interesting activities to to in Costa Rica which will always have you occupied and enjoying the tropics with family or friends which makes costa rica a great place to go to.

1. My target audience is mostly tourist since my website will be about costa rica I would like to persuade them in wanting to go and visiting costa rica.

4. I woud be using the Costa Rican flag along with the name of what you call a costa rican which is Tico/Tica and a word that you will hear and always see around costa rica which is Pura Vida which is basically like saying pure life.

For my website idea I was thinking of making a website about costa rica because since thats where my parents are from I feel i can make a website and speak about all the nice and exciting places to go visit, the different volcanoes that are there the types of foods they love to eat, the most famous places to go visit, the different beaches and places to be able to go if anyone is ever interested in going to costa rica I could also speak about the history that costa rica has. since many people don't really know where it is i feel i could show people more about it and that way they know more about costa rica. Activity 5

- Site 1 uses interactivity in a unique way by having different articles in a box form and when you open it the whole site is shown in a creative way.
- Site 2 uses interactivity in a unique way because since the website is about eyes when u first click on the site there is an eye and different color lines moving around and once it gets to the main page when you go to click something different things move and change color so it shows they have a unique way of doing there website
- SIte 3 uses interactivity in a unique way because it has a pattern of small images that become larger and change its color on the side of the page it also then has a side of different lines and bright and dark colors put against each other.
- Site 4 uses interactivity because once you open into the webpage you see a booklet with writing in it and different slots where you get to choose what you want to see and read. so that makes it unique from any of the other 3 sites.

Activity 3

-In Picture one the elements of design that it has is color and shape and the principal of design is that it has a lot of variety. There is a lot of different colors put into the picture as well as the different shapes and a variety of different ways the artist use the colors and shapes to make the painting.

-In Picture two shows the elements of line and form and the principal design of harmony and rhythm because the picture is made up of lines only that they are formed in different ways and going different directions

- In Picture Three it shows the elements of line, shape, and color because the painting has a variety of different shapes and lines used to make the face of the painting the principal design that the picture shows is contrast because the picture was made with a dark background and the main part was used with bright colors so it brings out the painting more.

-In Picture 4 the elements of design are line, shape, and color the pictures shows lines used in different forms as well as the shapes and an amount of 3/4 different colors. some of the principal of designs are balance because in the picture it shows symmetry another principal design is contrast, rhythm and pattern. because the picture has light up against on dark and the elements vary in direction.

-In Picture 5 the elements of design are line, shape, texture, and space the picture shows a variety of different lines making up the shape and each square shape has spaces in between one another. some of the principal of designs are contrast and harmony because the elements are similar in the size of there shape and there shade

- In Picture 6 the elements of design it has is space which is between the man and the item he is holding and the principal designs that the picture has is contrast and emphasis which is focused more on the man and what he's looking at.


-Absract Expressionism is A painting style in which the process is largely uncontrolled, accidental, sometimes unthinking, automatic and direct. The painting becomes a record of the artist's intense experience with paint and color
-Cubism is an artistic movement that has surfaces of geometrical planes

1. What Principle of Design applies to the Web Art?
-in Web Art 1, its an icon animated for mountain dew and the principle designs it shows and applies to are movement and contrast because they have light elements and dark elements opposing each other.
-in Web Art 2, the principle of design that applies to the web art are emphasis and rhythm because the artist directs our eyes to one part and the same elements vary in size.
-In Web Art 3, the principal of design shows a variety of things different writings are in each different circle.
-in Web Art 4, the principal design is movement, contrast, and a lot of variety
-In Web Art 5, the principal design is contrast and movement while having different things move into place the colors are contrasting each other having a dark background up against bright colors.
-In Web Art 6, the principal design is movment and contrast because the painting is hitting up against a dark background which brings out even more the lighter colors
-In Web Art 7 the principal design is variety the picture shows different types of elements in different shape and size.
-In Web Art 8, the principal design is empahsis because it makes people look at just one part of the compostion.

2. What is unique about this particular Web page?
All these web pages are all unique all of the different web art have a different principle design to them there all different in shape size and color. some of them have movment or a variety in there color shape or how much is put into it.

3. What is the purpose of the Web page?
the purpose of That Web Page is to show people the different ways you can do art weather it has different shapes or sizes, a balance were the art woudld be symmetrical or the contrast of art were elements oppose to differently either lighter or darker. or wht the harmony orrythm it could have, or what it's empahsising

Multimedia Design

1. What are the different ways line is used?
- The lines where used in many different ways the artist used thick, thin, straight, broken, and wavy lines.

2.Describe 6 different ways line expresses emotion?
- the six different ways that express emotion are Calligraphy, Maps, Horizontal, Vertical lines, Floor Plans, and Graphs

3. What are factors affect our peception of shape and form?

- Viewpoint and the Space around the object are factors that affect our peception of shape and form 

4. What kind of shapes change two dimensional space?
- Organic and Geometric change to two dimensional space

5. Look at the work of M.C.Escher how does he manipulate positive and negative space?
-The artist used the  reversal of positive and Negative space to create his illusion, he also used interlocking images that confuse us with what is foreground and what is background

6. What are the tools of creating the illusion of three dimensional space?
-three dimensional shapes have depth,  width and height 

7. Describe the following type of movement: Implied, Compositional, Dynamic
-compositional movement is how the people view the composition and how it grabs here attention

-Dynamic movement is how the eye flows smoothly form one area to the other of the composition

-implied movement is a fixed imagine and cannot literally move 

8. What is Hue and Value?
-Hue refers to the pure spectrum color

-Value is the relative lightness and darkness of a color

9. What is color proportions,  simultaneous contrast, optical mixture?

-Color proportions refers to the relative quantity of hue or value used in color compositions

-Simultaneous contrast is phenomenon which happens when a color appears to change when its against a different background

-Optical Mixture is the phenomenon which happens when small particles of different colors are mixed 

Anti-Advertisement

for this picture what I was doing was trying to show people that smoking isn't good to quit smoking because there are so many bad outcomes. With this picture I took an X-ray of the lungs of people who smoke and took a picture of many cigarettes and made it into a heart. I then took a picture of a women with her shirt that says "You'd die for your kids so why not live for them?" which is telling people to quit i then made a mask on the picture with the shirt and used the gradient to make it look as a reflection of the X-Ray.

Brian Storm (Visual Pun)

for this visual pun i used the term "Brain storm" so what I did was take pictures of brains and replaced them with clouds so it looks as if the brains are really causing the storm I used many different adjustments as well as Filters to do my project 

Movie Poster

for this project what we had to do was make a movie poster of a movie we liked and create a new version of it. So what i did was take the main characters of the movie and place them bigger then the rest then I took one team which was good and the other which were the bad ones and places them on the cover as well i used a dark background to match with the way the actors were dressed i used the adjusment tools and well as different filters and i also used the burn tool.

Science Fiction

for this picture what I did was take a background and i wanted to put random things that people say our not possible like aliens, robots, space cars things people look foward into seeing in the future. well once i took each picture i would go to filter and pick one like the film grain and then i would also use image and adjusments and use the curves to make my picture a little lighter but then again darker i used the blur and smudge tool to make my picture.

For this picture what I did was take pictures of pollution and use a black layer on top that way I would be able to write my poem on the picture I would then merge it down and  I then would save it as a different channel and go back to the picture to get the words on it I then I was able to go to layers fill in new layer and put in a pattern and I selected any type of pattern for my picture. Once I was done with that The Layers and Words would be together to complete the poem of pollution I did that for these pictures as well as the other ones I have posted.

Dancer's

For this picture what I did was take pictures of different types of dancers and use blue channel for each I made a blue copy for each ask well and then went to image> adjustments> layers and made the background white while I made the person black i then selected the picture when to select>then inverse and selected only the person and then did edit copy edit paste on to my background of the city 

For this picture what I did was take the picture of the photo then I did edit copy edit paste and what I did for the photo was make it pop by using the drop shadow for each building. Then what I did was take a picture of a plane and do the same thing for it as well. After I was done with my photo I choose different layers for my picture to see which one would fit it best and the layer i choose was overlay.

Album Cover Of Wisin Y Yandel

For this photo what I did was take Wisin y Yandel which are my favorite group who sings  a type of music called reggaeton. What I did was take these two spanish singers and put a photo of there face close up but I blurred it a little 

and made it more transparent for the background i chose something dark and different like I've seen in two of there other

albums. i took a photo of them where i knew would match with it's background. I made that picture look as if there were many

layers to it i first made one picture very transparent then i took another picture made it less transparent and the final picture I

left it the way it was. I used a filter on the photo's which was paint daubs i also used that filter for the smaller picture i have of

them with there name. For the name what i used was the horizontal type tool mask. i choose a dark red so it would go along

with the album cover. Then the sign thats between them both is the sign that they use there symbol of there name which is

wisin y yandel. For the back of the album cover what i used was the same background i used for the cover of the album and

then i took two more photo's of them that i thought might go good with the background with both photos I made them

both look transparent and i put some people with gas mask's which i thought might make the photo have a little more

creativity then what i did was use the paint daubs filter for one photo and then a texture photo for the other. When I put the

name of the songs I wasn't sure if i should put them in spanish or not or how to translate some things so I left the name of the

songs in spanish.

For this picture what I did was take the background of my photo then i went a took random pictures that fit into the cartoon theme and had the feeling of christmas just like what I did with the reindeer, penguin, snowman, and santa claus having the picture of the christmas tree gave it more of the spirt of christmas and thats how i created my christmas card.
